Ode to a Bianchi.....

I am in mourning. I sold my 2001 Bianchi today. It had not been used, since I rode the Climb to Kaiser for the second time in 2002. After that ride, I knew that I would not going to be using those types of climbing gears ever again. With a triple on the front and a 27 rear cog, there was not a hill I could not climb.

It was always kept indoors and I have been looking at it leaning against the wall for almost 5 years. I would air the tires and dust it off occassionally. The narrow bars, alloy frame, and seat feel unfamiliar, now.

I put an ad on our local, girls triathalon team, website. It was sold in 2 days. A wonderfully vivacious gal who was just getting into riding, was so pleased and excited to see my bike in person. My first bike was going to another girl--as her first bike. Her smile says it all.

As she carefully loaded my Bianchi into her truck, I had a tear in my eye. I could not believe it, as I had never thought--in a million years--that I would become attached to an inanimate object. But I was.

Now THAT'S entertainment....

Jimmy and I went to see the Blue Man Group last night. WOW! We were amazed!

The opening act was Mike Relm; a Frisco native, that was nerdy-cool. We're not into the ablum scratching-kind of music, but this was quite entertaining. He controlled all of the audio and visuals at once, making for some some creative movie clips. (hope this link works)

We did not quite know what to expect from the evening, so everything they did was an incredible surprise. Funny, engaging, visually captivating, and muscially--freaking awesome! They were the complete entertainment package. Initally, we were taken back by the cost of the tickets, but it was worth every dollar. (hope this link works, too)

Juicin' with Jack......

Mom gave me the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer awhile back and I have used it intermittently this past year; it takes alot of product, you must prepare the fruit or veggie of choice, and cleaning of the machine is quite a process. Besides all of that, the BEST tasting juice is created. Now that I have Jimmy captivated with my unique creations, we are juicin' fools.

I bought a 25-lb. bag of carrots, so we will be having the bunny-delight, in some form, every day. Carrot, cucumber and apple juice is awesome. Carrot, pineapple and celery is tasty, too. Carrot and banana juice is delicious. You get the point.

He said he is pooping orange. I guess I should cut back on his portion of the carrots.

A lazy day...

Instead of riding up Wildcat, Jimmy suggested we drive the RV. The 16% grade was hardly noticable and the road is much narrower than I realized-this road is part of the Pine-not-so-Flat race course. We parked at the very top, watched a couple of movies, sipped on sodas and ate popcorn. The clouds were coming in, as the sun was going down. Wonderfully cozy afternoon....

Resolutions....

New Years' Resolution 2004: tone triceps
resolution kept? No

New Years' Resolution 2005: tone triceps
resolution kept? No

New Years' Resolution 2006: tone triceps
resolution kept? No

New Years' Resolution 2007: when driving, come to a complete stop at all stop signs
resolution kept? Yes, annnnnnnd I toned my triceps!

Every year, all I needed to do was to work on my darn triceps. A single, little muscle. I did not need to spend any time on my biceps, merely my triceps.....so why in the heck could I not fulfill that meager challenge? Hmph! No answer.

For 2008, I did not make any resolutions. Why not? Hmph! No answer.

X-mas....Cali style

Disclaimer: I am not so egotistical that I would only post pics of myself on "our" vacation. The fact is, Jimmy holds onto the camera like nobody's business......

Jimmy, Bo and I packed up the RV and headed to the beach for Christmas. We traded the foggy valley for the clear blue, sunny skies of Avila Beach:

This is our home-away-from-home (view from the pier):

We always make sure to stop at our favorite restaurant. Great atmosphere, if you like cats:
We went to visit some mission, just wish I could remember the name. You know California has a million of them and we have been to so many, that the name escapes me. Since this is a mission, I should confess, that behind that statue I was holding a bag of dog poo that was going to be dumped after this photo:

This is how Jimmy looks everytime he gets into the RV and sees me in the passenger seat and not behind the drivers wheel:
