Hikin' Table Mtn.

Fresno is actually the basin of volcanic and glacial action that occurred some 10 million+ years ago. The flat, table-like lava formations are still easily visible from most of the city. Jimmy and I took a guided hike with a knowledgeable naturist.

Just leaving the parking area. No sweat. The plateau behind us, is our destination.

As we approach the flat top, we must scale this steep trail, first.
Wildflowers abound!

Several hours later, we reach the top and and this is what we found: flora and fauna that survives only on CA lava beds.

We had lunch on the edge of the earth...freakin' awesome!
